These fall mainly into two groups -- tinted and untinted. If you have young or particularly pretty skin, use a non-tinted , transparent foundation. There are moisturizing one suitable for a dry skin, all purposes beauty cream which make good powder bases, invisible foundation especially formulated for an oily skin.
If you are not so proud of your complexion and wish it to give extra coverage and added glow, use a tinted foundation. The liquid ones are good and spread easily. Creams give a little more coverage. If you have an extra dry skin use an invisible moisturizing beneath a tinted foundation, or buy a tinted moisturizing foundation.
The colour of your tinted foundation is most important. There are many subtle, skin matching shades available so take the trouble to find one as near as possible to your natural skin tone. But if your skin is sallow you can give it an added hint of pink, or a more beigy tone if you have high colour to disguise.
A very faint tan can be given to a pale skin. But if you depart too far from the depth of colour already in your face, the result is likely to be patchy and disappointing.
