Letter Of Concolence

These are perhaps the most difficult letters of all to write, particularly when a friends has died.

It always better to dwell on the out-standingly happy times in the life of the deceased : never comment of any suffering.

Dear .......

We were so grieved to hear this morning the sad news about your father. We all send you and your family our warmest sympathy.

He was a wonderful man and will be sadly missed. It is good to know that he was able to see you carry on in his footsteps at …….(or, attain your high honour last year) (or see the happy marriage of ……….. so recently).

We shall be thinking of you in these difficult days.

Your sincerely.
